Experiment § Polarimeter

Everwide Chemical also purchased a Polarimeter (Polarimeter, left). Using the Senarmont method to rotate the analyzer, the value of the optical path difference can be obtained, and then the actual stress can be calculated. Photo 1 is the original appearance of the test piece. Photo 2 is the photoelastic pattern of the test piece in the stress gauge. Photo 3 and 4 are close-ups of the measurement process of the area to be measured. The small circle next to number 2 is the position of the sample measurement. The calculated stresses at different positions are as follows: 1.1.59, 2.0.78, 3.0.33, 4.0.07 (in MPa), which proves that the closer the position to the iron ring, the greater the stress when the resin is cooled. Comparing photo 5 obtained by the polarization stress meter, these data also show the correlation between the color qualitative description and the quantitative calculation of the stress of the resin.

Activity § Good harvest time

Our business manager Gary and Miss Li Li are getting married! Everyone agrees that Gary is known for his kindness and good temper. The colleagues in the company are taken care of by him on business trips. Here we wish them happiness. The development of the company is the same as getting married. Some things need to be deepened, and some things need to be brewed. The focus of this year's deepening is to refine the TS16949 that was passed last year.

Recently, many colleagues have participated in internal audits and put forward many suggestions for improvement. What we are planning is the introduction of the ERP system, which is still in the preliminary stage of understanding: through internal and external training courses, we will ask existing users for their opinions. Although our speed is slower, we have to do a good job of the foundation for the future. The company's development is like a fruit tree in a garden: using organic fertilizer to grow mangoes is not as delicious and economical as the fruits on the market, but it coexists with nature in a friendly way, and the result rate and sweetness are also improved year by year. Papaya is especially recommended. As long as you have a piece of land, and be diligent in watering and fertilizing, it will soon be fruitful. In terms of return on investment, planting some papaya is definitely something that everyone can try.

 

Knowledge § How to make a cationic system with both light curing and thermal curing?

Some cationic starters have both light-curing ability and thermal curing ability, and the above-mentioned purpose can be achieved by using this kind of starter. But they usually have shortcomings: if the light-curing ability is good, then the heat curing ability is very poor, if the heat curing ability is good, then the light-curing speed is very slow. When a certain ability of this initiator does not meet the processing conditions, you have to find another way: add different photoinitiators and thermal initiators. This is simple to say, but it is not easy. Many cationic initiators are organic salts, composed of central ions and accompanying ions. The ion exchange reaction of the salt may occur between different kinds of accompanying ions, which causes the light-curing or thermal curing ability to be different from the original design: sometimes it is unstable, sometimes it does not react.

 

Living § Don‘t, Can't, No

My second uncle once told me that he was most afraid of others saying "Don't" to him in his entire life. It seems that as long as you simply say "Don't", you can abandon the problem to others. There was a break in the handle of the three-axis drum machine, and there was no way to produce it. The colleague in charge stopped working and said that he would wait for the original factory to replace the parts. The second uncle was very angry and said with wide-eyed: "Are you waiting for me to do it!" He took an iron rod, used a lathe to make an identical insert, knocked it into the machine, and resumed production in less than half an hour. The second uncle's personal teaching is not just that. The bench of the hardness tester, the fixture of the high resistance tester, the laboratory table, the iron frame for production, the dumping aids, and the aggregate leakage are all made by him. It is not so much that the second uncle has dexterous hands, it is better to say that he has a firm heart. In the era of hardship, he never easy to say "Don't." The other meaning of "Don't" is "Can't," and my previous generation didn't say it easily. I once saw them make emergency production just for the customer to pick up the goods at 11 pm, and once and my second uncle delivered the goods from Zhongli to Taichung on Sunday, because there was no refrigerated freight back then. The customer raised quality concerns in the afternoon, and the uncle went to Kaohsiung the next morning, and the factory rushed to replenish the goods in the afternoon. In order to make what customers want, they are still doing experiments and looking through materials at night. I was a student back then, and I was with them after class to fully appreciate the passion for breaking through bottlenecks and solving problems. During the break, going to the snack bar to have fried noodles with lamb and a glass of draft beer is infinite happiness. In the era of Taiwan's economic boom, their logic was simple, but they were all great wisdom. It was an age of mutual trust and interdependence. Thinking about "Can't" and "Don't", it seems to be flooded now. I have heard the second uncle say "No" once. When calculating shares in retirement, he said: I don't want anything.
