Experiment § Phosphate-based inorganic adhesives

Thermal conductive adhesives have been widely used in fields such as servers, 5G devices, and Internet of Things (IoT) equipment in recent years. They effectively fill the gaps between electronic heating components and heat sinks to improve thermal conductivity efficiency and ensure stable system operation. Due to the potential release of silicone oil from traditional thermal adhesives, which may affect the performance of electronic components and cause contamination, we have developed a one-component PU thermal conductive adhesive (Figure 1). To enhance thermal conductivity, the formula requires a large amount of inorganic fillers. However, high filler content can affect the ease of operation, making it crucial to select an appropriate wetting dispersant (Figure 2). The weight ratio of JU033 series thermal conductive fillers is 91 wt%, with a thermal conductivity coefficient reaching 8 W/m·K. Despite the high filler content, it maintains good flowability and wettability, with excellent stability even after long-term storage at room temperature. Additionally, when the JU033 thermal adhesive is pressed into sheet form and heat-cured, the resulting thermal pad has a smooth surface with no foaming, ensuring thermal conductivity efficiency is not compromised (Figure 3). Activity § Neutering stray animals

We continue to focus on the issue of stray animals. In the past, we have donated dog food and crates to the "Yunlin Stray Animal Care Association." Last year, we

sponsored the association's neutering program for stray animals, aiming to improve the process from capture, medical treatment, surgery, and aftercare to deworming

and vaccination. In 2024, the association successfully neutered 130 stray dogs and cats. This not only helps control overpopulation, reducing the problems of hunger,

disease, and premature death for new lives, but also creates a more friendly environment within the community. If you're interested in adopting a pet, consider adopting

from a shelter or animal welfare group to give them a chance to change their life and provide them with a warm and happy home.

Knowledge § What is the brittle temperature?

Place the plastic test specimens at different temperatures and impact them with an impact tester. Above a certain temperature, the plastic exhibits ductile failure with

higher impact strength; below a certain temperature, the plastic has very low impact strength and shows brittle failure. The temperature at which the impact strength

changes significantly is called the brittle temperature. In addition to the change in impact strength, there is also a noticeable difference in tensile testing: above the brittle

temperature, the test specimen often shows a yield point with a longer elongation; below the brittle temperature, the specimen breaks suddenly.

Living §  Lunar New Year in Vietnam

Vietnam also celebrates the Lunar New Year, which is the most important festival of the year in Vietnam. The holiday usually lasts from the 29th day of the lunar calendar to the 5th day of the new year. The festive atmosphere begins early, with people decorating their homes and streets with shiny ornaments, flowers, and lights, creating a joyful mood (Figure 1). Vietnam has the tradition of giving red packets, which they will give to children and the elderly on the mornings of the first to third days of the new year. During these three days, people return home from afar to reunite with their families, share joyous moments, and enjoy delicious food. Adults drink tea and chat or have a small drink, while children play traditional games, such as card lotteries or "Bầu cua cá cọp" (Vietnamese for crab-fish-tiger), which add to the festive fun (Figure 2). Among the traditional Lunar New Year foods, rice dumplings are an essential dish. Vietnamese rice dumplings are wrapped in square banana leaves and are typically filled with yellow beans, green beans, and pork. Soup dishes such as bitter melon soup with meat are also common, as "bitter melon" in Vietnamese sounds like "suffering over," symbolizing that hardships will pass (Figure 3). In Kinh families, peach blossoms are common New Year flowers, while in central and southern regions, marigolds or yellow apricot flowers are more popular (Figure 4). People also display lucky kumquat bonsai trees and five-fruit trays. As part of the tradition, people exchange blessings, visit relatives and friends, or pay respects to former teachers. I also wish everyone a happy and fulfilling life, good health for the entire family, and a peaceful and prosperous New Year (Figure 5).
