Experiment § FX302-47 silicone foam

Silicone foam is widely used in protective materials for cold chain storage and transportation, electric vehicle battery casings, LCD gaskets, sports equipment, electronic machinery industries, and other workpieces. We have recently developed FX302-47, a castable two-component silicone foam. The product cures in 10 minutes at 80°C. This product has the advantages of high and low-temperature resistance, electrical insulation, low flammability, and resistance to flame spread. Products can be adjusted to low or high density, open or closed pores on the surface, and increased flame retardancy and adhesion by adding specific additives to the formula according to customer needs. FX302-47 has good fluidity and can be easily processed, so it is very suitable for various purposes such as heat insulation, buffering, flame retardant, support, shock absorption, and sound insulation. Experimental data of FX302-47: mixing ratio is 1:1, viscosity S14/10rpm (A=12,750cps, B=6,250cps), usable time after AB mixing is 2-3 minutes, density 0.28 (g/ cm3, 25℃ ). If you have any needs or questions about this type of product, please feel free to contact us. -Author: Dr. Chemazam

Activity § 「Chemical ING」 Open for Student Registration

Everwide cooperates with the school to organize visiting activities every year and opens up quotas in the first and second semesters of each year, allowing interested students to sign up to visit our factory freely. The purpose is to provide students with different learning ways and give them the opportunity to understand chemical factory operations. Activities include factory tours, understanding of production processes, product application instructions, instrument explanations, chemical knowledge sharing, and DIY activities. It is hoped that these experiences will bring positive inspiration and help to their studies or future career plans.

Knowledge § What is Anti-fog coating? (1)

Moisture often condenses on transparent plastic, forming tiny water droplets. For example, the heat emitted from the body when wearing a helmet, the original moisture in the air in car lights, etc., will condense on the lens, affecting the transparency of the plastic. The former will affect the viewing function of the helmet, and the latter will cause people to misunderstand that the car lights are defective and leaking. Applying a layer of transparent anti-corrosion paint on plastic can solve this problem: the surface of the anti-corrosion paint has a hydrophilic structure, and water droplets have a small droplet angle on them, which means they tend to flatten out. There will be no agglomeration of water droplets. In contrast, the surface of general plastics has a tendency to be lipophilic, and the surface tension is small. The drop angle of water droplets on it is large, and water droplets are obvious.

Living § Snow White Transformation Show

Teacher LUO, RONG-YU from Huwei High School, who just retired this year, is probably one of the best in Taiwan for designing teaching aids. In order to let students understand the polarization of light, he designed a set of Snow White teaching aids. Using a scrapped lightbox and a clock disc, the disc is rotated to change the angle of the two polarizers, cleverly displaying the polarization of light. As long as the disk rotates, Snow White's skin will immediately turn white or black, and her clothes will shine. I imitated Teacher Luo's idea and photocopied a slide of Snow White's pattern, then covered it with a piece of polarizing film. I first traced the outline of Snow White's figure on the polarizing film with a strange pen and then interlaced the clothes on the polarizing film. Apply multiple layers of tape overlapping each other. After the pasting is completed, cut out the polaroid human-shaped pattern. There should be no tape residue on the face and limbs. The tape on the outside of the skirt must also be cut off. Finally, the work on the LED tracing board must be fixed, and the cover should be covered with another polarizing film. Basically, Snow White is done. Please click the link for the video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dNICErdKkG4. Let's decipher the principle. The skin is white when the two diaphragms are oriented parallel to each other. Light cannot pass through when the two diaphragms are 90 degrees perpendicular to each other. Snow White's skin is completely black. The clothes on the body also produce birefringence due to the multiple layers of tape. When the angle of the two polarizers changes, the clothes also change beautifully. The design of this teaching aid allows the "Everwide FUN Magic" education team to easily interpret complex scientific principles, allowing children in rural areas to understand the principles of polarization. On October 22, at Dounan Station of the science train, we combined with the gifted class team of Douliu High School to set up a science booth. Let the children who come to visit the science train operate it themselves and experience the wonders of science and aesthetics. -Author: Mrs. LIN,MIAO-LING
