Experiment § Epoxy adhesive for artwork
The combination of wood and epoxy resin has become popular in the market recently, and the river table is a popular product in this industry (Figure 1). We have developed products for related applications: 1. Mix adhesive and paint, and then paint on wood. This resin has a viscosity of about 650 cps after mixing and has good leveling properties, making the process easy to operate. 2. Potting of wood products to create artworks with good transparency quality. Because of its excellent transparency, even though the wood is covered with resin, the wood grain is still clearly visible after curing (Figure 2). We carried out the pouring and bonding experiment. After fixing the wood, add the color-adjusted resin in the middle for bonding and painting (Figure3, 4). After completion, it can be initially cured at room temperature for 24 hours to become beautiful artwork (Figure 5). Activity § Exhibition under the epidemic
Recently, the epidemic in Taiwan has been under control, and physical exhibitions have gradually resumed operations. Therefore, we participated in the "Taiwan International Electronic Manufacturing show" (Figure 1,2). Everwide had updated the product catalog, hoping that consumers could quickly know the product through the new content introduction and layout design (Figure 3, 4). With the rapid development of new display technology and telecommunications, many customers inquired about the 5G and mini-micro LED series during the exhibition. After listening to customers' needs, colleagues professionally introduced suitable products to them, and visitors gave good feedback (Figure 5).
Knowledge § What is core-shell rubber?
When using a liquid rubber to toughen the epoxy resin, the rubber separates into phases during the resin curing to form a toughened second phase. This process has an impact on the reaction rate. The degree of phase separation will not be 100%. The size, distribution, and shape of the particle size will due to the formula and processing conditions, resulting in different toughening effects. Core-shell rubber (CSR) uses the rubber component as the core and uses a hard polymer to make the shell outside and dispersed in the liquid resin. Since this kind of rubber has appeared in the resin in the form of the second phase from the beginning, it has little effect on the curing reaction of the resin and the Tg of the cured product, and the size of the rubber particles will not change, which is another choice toughening.
Living § First experience of a baseball game
I am from Vietnam. Although our country does not have baseball, I know it is a popular national sport in Taiwan. By chance, I got the ticket to watch the first baseball game in my life. The team was Tainan unified lions and Taichung CITIC Brothers (Figure 1). I studied at Tainan Chenggong University for more than two years. Except for Vietnam, Tainan is like my second hometown, so I cheer for the unified lion in this game. After arriving at the destination, I am pleased because I had never seen a baseball stadium (Figure 2, 3). At the beginning of the game, the unified Lions got a two-point lead in the third game, but the CITIC brothers still chased after it and scored five points in the fourth game. Whenever the batter is about to hit the ball, I feel the body is very tight, like a taut clockwork (Figure 4). The most memorable thing for me was the ninth game. The two sides were deadlocked for about three hours. Although both teams played excellent defensive abilities, the CITIC Brothers eventually won the game 5-2 (Figure 5). A game has increased my in-depth understanding of Taiwanese culture and made me feel the splendor of baseball. In the future, I will continue to cheer for baseball.
