Experimental § Polysulfide rubber
We have recently committed to the development of liquid polysulfide rubber products. Compared to general epoxy resin and moisture-curing silicone rubber, this material has better effect on rubber adhesion (Figure 1). Since polysulfide rubber contains sulfur atoms in the main chain, this type of rubber products have good oil resistance, solvent resistance, aging resistance, low air permeability and good low temperature flexibility. What’s more, it is commonly used in civil engineering, automobile fuel tanks, and aerospace industry, and is especially used as sealing material. However, the only disadvantage of polysulfide rubber is having strange smell. At present, we are developing a two-component formula — A:B=10:1, which can be made into one-component moisture-curing type in the future. In this way, we can expand the product lines of Silicone and MS, so that customers can have more choices according to different characteristics (Figure 4).

Activity § Recent people and events
COVID-19 is expanding globally. In order to prevent the spread of the virus, the registered nurse in the factory is invited to carry out epidemic prevention propaganda (Figure 1). In addition to measuring your body temperature, it is also important to wash our hands frequently, as well as the correct way to wear masks. Furthermore, a new batch of interns has been arranged in different departments. We welcome their joining very much. This is also a good opportunity to learn from each other (Figure 2). In order to promote the knowledge exchange of R&D colleagues, we offer a course called “R&D short lecture”. We invite speakers to use 15-20 minutes to share the key analysis of the experiment and product development, and the search channel for professional data. Unlike a 2-hour class on Wednesday night, “R&D short lecture” emphasizes on fast, immediately available, and increased chances of collision of knowledge. In the changing trend, the content, methods, and purpose of learning have become increasingly diverse. We will keep improving.
Knowledge § Why do soft epoxy resins react slowly?
The general epoxy group of epoxy is connected to the aromatic structure, which has high reactivity and hard structure. Aliphatic epoxy are often added to soft epoxy, however the reactivity of epoxy groups attached to aliphatic structures is relatively low, which is one of the reasons for the slowdown. Another reason for slower speed is the concentration of functional groups. Only when the structure of material is soft, the molecular weight is large, and the cross-linking density is low, can the soft characteristics be shown. Low functional group concentration of this formula leads to less collision and slower reaction speed. Plus, the reaction rate of soft resin is slow, so the reaction rate at room temperature is more unstable. After long-time standing, the reaction rate is further improved, but it seems to have a tendency to become hard. If it can be cured by heating, this uncertainty may be avoided.
Living § Reading Sutra together
Participated in parent-child Sutra reading class for more than three years. The reason why we joined was because when one day I took my son to the food stand, the boss said he was too introverted. Every child in the Sutra reading class is confident. The happy atmosphere in the class completely subverts the monotonous and dull impression of the Sutra reading class. The reading can also be vivid and interesting, and the children will also want to participate actively. In order to grow and set a good example, we have continued to participate. After attending several times, in addition to understanding my son better, our relationship has become harmonious. I have heard others praise my child for taking care of others. I am very pleased with this achievement. Watching his transformation, I also started to take charge of class affairs. Although it was hard, I enjoy it. Last year we took the children to Malaysia to communicate with the local Sutra reading classes. I have benefited a lot from this journey, and I also realized the importance of promoting culture and moral education to take root from an early age. Looking forward to your participation!
