Experiment § UV-type hydrolyzed glue for lens dust-proof glass processing

Because of the small size of the dust-proof glass of a mobile phone or camera lens, the processing of cutting, edging, and chamfering is profound knowledge. The traditional manufacturing process uses rosin or paraffin wax, and the glass laminates are laminated before processing. After processing, it is heated to the melting point of rosin or paraffin so that the laminated glass is separated and finally cleaned with a solvent. This process has the following shortcomings: it needs to use solvents, so it is not environmentally friendly; each step is performed manually, which is costly and inefficient; processing can only be done in simple shapes, and the finished product is limited. A more advanced process uses UV hydrolyzed glue for glass processing; the process is shown in the figure above; the glass is fixed on the processing base with UV hydrolyzed glue, and then warm water is used to separate the finished glass from the processing base after processing. This process is mainly based on mechanized processing, which reduces the need for a workforce. The shape of the glass can be varied, and the cutting is accurate, and the quality is stable. Also, because of the use of warm hydrolyzed glue, it is more environmentally friendly. Although our glue is not on the final product, please don't forget its existing contributions!

Activity § Exchanging gifts on Christmas day

Jingle bell...Jingle bell... How loud the ringtone is. The familiar string rhythm outlines the atmosphere of Christmas. The excitement and expectancy have infected the entire work environment. At noon that day, many colleagues went to the second floor to see: What happened? Why is it so lively? It turned out that there was a tradition in the company for small-batch production units: at the end of the year, colleagues would exchange gifts with each other. Every colleague gave much care to design and package; the joy of the event was spread in the company and distributed among friends through Facebook and communication software. Everyone cast envy and shouted: "Wow! Your company is so good, what a happy company!" Through these joyful photos, I wish the readers of the biweekly newspaper a happy Christmas and a happy new year: Although Dec 25th has already passed, and the consecutive holidays of Jan 1st to Jan 4th have also been finished, and it is almost the end of January! but happy blessings are always valid, don't they?

Knowledge § What are the factors that cause the loss of light transmittance of resin in the visible light region?

  1. Light reflection: When the incident angle of light from the polymer into the air and the light is sinα1>1/n at the polymer-air interface, the internal reflection will be found; that is, the light cannot enter the air, but all fold back to the polymer. When n=1.5 and α1 is at least 42°, the light will be reflected in the polymer, which will make the transparent polymer appear extraordinarily bright; using this phenomenon, the transparent polymer can be made into shiny products, such as car taillights, traffic sign, light guide plate, and optical fiber.

  2. Light scattering: It is caused by the unevenness of the light of the medium; for transparent optical plastics, the light transmittance of the resin is generally reduced by scattering.

  3. Absorption of light: The Lambert-Beer law can express the absorption of light by a medium. Optical materials are transparent in the visible light region, so the drop in light transmittance caused by light absorption is generally small. It can be seen that the loss of light transmittance of the optical resin is mainly caused by the reflection of light at the interface.

Living § The significance of ISO/TS16949 to Everwide

In addition to customer requirements, what is the meaning of ISO/TS16949 other than doing business? After obtaining the certificate, the biweekly newspaper invited me to this manuscript, allowing me to think about this topic again. For Everwide, winning the TS16949 automotive industry quality management system certification has the following implications:

  1. Improvement of existing customers: Many customers' products are used in the after-sales maintenance market. These customers have been making progress; in the future, when products are directly supplied to auto factories, we, who are already qualified for TS16949, can immediately enter the supply chain with customers.

  2. Future customer development: We are one of the few resin manufacturers with TS16949 certification; we can obtain tickets to find new customers in the automotive industry and develop new applications.

  3. Learn the five major tools: in the customer base of the optoelectronics industry, the five major tools have a high degree of application. Although they are not in the automotive industry, they still require FMEA, SPC... such materials require a higher-level management system.

  4. Drive production changes: Because of the introduction of TS16949, the design and production process must constantly be rationally managed, which drives the changes in our production. For example, the vacuum process adopts an accumulative timing device, and the timing is only performed when the vacuum is sufficient; the stirring speed is quantified, which can more accurately control and record the quality of production.

  5. Improving the quality of human resources: The partners involved in internal and external audit activities are at least 15 years younger than the boss. With the introduction of the new system, the younger generation of colleagues can learn higher skills and more difficult knowledge.

Receiving the ISO/TS16949 certificate is another new beginning; we are not complacent about it; we think this is already very good! On the contrary, we launched internal training in various departments and prepared to refine our Turtle diagram. We laughed at ourselves and said that our Turtle diagram is currently the "primary school student version"; we hope that when we verify it next year, we will be able to advance to the "junior high school student version" so that our system will be more implemented and more complete.
