Experiment § Flame-resistant version of moisture-curing resin
Applying for UL flame-resistant certification is a requirement raised by many customers in the electronics industry. About four or five years ago, a customer who made batteries asked us to develop a UV-type flame-resistant solder joint protective glue. After some efforts, the first flame-resistant UV glue HD1232 was born. The case was originally expected monthly order quantity of 500 kg, so we spent a year and after a long time of inspection and testing finally got UL yellow card. Unfortunately, the final transaction volume was less than 50kg. Behind every yellow card, there is a bitter story. UL company is only responsible for testing, and the test piece needed for product testing is made by the customer. If the length, width, and thickness tolerances and air bubbles do not meet the acceptable standards, replacement parts are required. Recently, Everwide Chemical sent FS168 moisture-curing resin for testing, and the thickness of the test piece is required to be 1.5mm~3mm because the thickness is too thick, the bottom of the test piece poured into the mold cannot be completely dried. In order to solve this problem, we decided to make a large piece of resin first, and then use a planer to shave off the resin layer by layer to become a test piece that meets the UL specifications. This is not a small matter about the glue formula, but a method that we must explore ourselves. In the past two years, we have grown a lot from formula development, trial production, and finally waiting for the results. Although the process was difficult, the result of obtaining UL yellow card certification again is very good! Activity § New solvent storage area
The intention of the government to amend the law is to protect everyone's safety and make the regulations more in line with current conditions and environmental requirements. At present, our solvent storage area has failed to meet the requirements of fire protection regulations, so we have to establish another storage area that meets the requirements of the regulations. The location of the new solvent storage area is another difficult problem, so after many considerations, we had to sacrifice a corner of our beautiful garden to build it. In the originally densely wooded garden, Uncle Gardener reluctantly said goodbye to a few old friends, and then planned a new solvent storage area, and construction began in June this year. The old solvent storage area will store our large empty gasoline drums. What will the new solvent storage area look like? Let us wait and see!
Knowledge § What is pressure-sensitive adhesive?
PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) is an adhesive that is solvent-free, does not require special equipment and special manufacturing processes. When the pressure-sensitive adhesive is under pressure, it will wet the surface of the adherend like a high-viscosity fluid. When no more pressure is applied, it will have a solid-like property to fix the adherend. Pressure-sensitive adhesives are easy to use and reworkable and are often used as adhesives for adhesive tapes, labels, protective stickers, and sticky notes. It is also used in many electronic products such as polarizing plates, touch screens, etc.
Living § Let's start the bowling competition
The 2014 FIFA World Cup was fiercely unfolding, and our welfare committee did not humbly and held the long-awaited bowling competition on June 12-13. In this year's competition, in addition to individual competitions, we also added team competitions, creating a whole new topic. During the competition, several colleagues had similar strengths, and the distance between the scores stimulated everyone's unlimited potential! The tense atmosphere of the game allowed the cheering on the sidelines to concentrate, watching every collision between the ball and the pin on the fairway. The intense and exciting game even made the golfers next door exclaimed. Ah! She ate a turkey! The joyous atmosphere of the team competition allows us to instantly eliminate the tiredness of the accumulated day and replace it with happy memories.
