Experiment § Judgment of Tg of incompletely cured resin

Epoxy resin is a thermosetting plastic. After curing, there will be an obvious Tg. As shown in the left figure, curve A is the DSC (differential scanning card meter) spectrum after JB267-3 is fully cured, and the Tg is 122°C. Sometimes the Tg change will be masked by an incompletely reacted exothermic reaction, or the change in the baseline slope may cause difficulty in judgment. Curve B on the left is the DSC spectrum of JB267-3 after heating and curing at 110°C/10min. In this graph, the curve between 50-60℃ has a very insignificant change. Is it Tg? Using MDSC (Amplitude Modulation Differential Scanning Card Meter) analysis of this test piece, the spectrum of Figure 2 can be obtained. Curve A represents the total heat change, just like the analysis pattern obtained by a general DSC. MDSC can decompose the total heat change into reversible reaction change (curve B) and irreversible reaction change (curve C). From the spectrum of the reversible reaction change of curve B, it can be found that there is a significant change at 40°C and 120°C. Both may be Tg, but how to determine which one is Tg? Use TMA (thermomechanical analysis) on this test piece to obtain spectrum three (shown on the right): Tg is above 100°C. This series of experiments tell us that rashly using one instrument to determine Tg is quite risky, and it is best to use two instruments for double confirmation.

Activity § Year-end party

It's the end of the year again, and it is also the most interesting year-end party every year. This year's year-end activities are different from the past, with some changes. The Welfare Committee specially asks everyone to draw lots to determine seats, eliminate the barriers between departments, so that colleagues who are not familiar with each other can get to know each other through activities, and also design games with "tables" as the unit, so that everyone can work together to divide the game bonus. In addition, the family members who went to participate also played games with everyone, which made Everwide full of joy like a big family. The climax of the year-end event is to draw bonuses. The climax of this year's activities has been repeated. From the beginning of finding red envelopes to bingo games, and even guessing the ultimate password, they are all heart-pounding, and I don't want to miss it at all. "Have you drawn the biggest prize?" In the warm atmosphere, the supervisors took out their red envelopes and shouted "donate." That's right! Let everyone immerse in the high-pitched atmosphere and end the year of hard work. Supervisors responded to everyone's enthusiasm and hard work with red envelopes. Thank everyone for their hard work, Everwide is better because of you!

Knowledge § Does epoxy resin have a thermoplastic form?

Epoxy is a thermosetting resin that uses epoxy groups for curing reactions. There are some epoxy resin homologues, such as the epoxy resin of the DGEBA system, when the molecular weight increases, the proportion of epoxy groups will decrease and the proportion of hydroxyl groups will increase (as shown in the structure on the right, the increase in molecular weight means the increase in n value, and the concentration of epoxy groups will decrease). These high-molecular-weight epoxy resins do not necessarily use epoxy groups for curing reactions, and sometimes use hydroxyl groups for curing reactions. When the molecular weight of this type of epoxy resin is as high as 10,000 to 20,000 or more, the concentration of epoxy groups can be ignored and this kind of resin is called phenoxy resin (Phenoxy). The phenoxy resin can use the hydroxyl group to carry out the curing reaction, and can also be used as a thermoplastic. The application of phenoxy resin as a thermoplastic: a compatibilizer for the blending process, as well as food and beverage packaging containers.

Living § Health

I found that it is not a simple matter for people to live well. Heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, liver disease, cancer, and other strange diseases, even going out and accidents will kill people. These dangerous factors can be prevented and reduced, but it is impossible to completely avoid them. Although living is not a simple matter, everyone wants to live. Not only will they see a doctor and take medicine when they are sick, but they also like to use healthy food to keep them safe. Not everyone can live a long life. Everyone understands the truth, but few people are willing to reduce their lifespan. The fate of a company is like an individual. R&D failure, business failure, manufacturing quality problems, poor management, and even an inexplicable natural and man-made calamity will cause the company to go bankrupt. Take R&D failure as an example. There are many possible reasons, such as insufficient education and training, poor quality of personnel, poor equipment, no reward system, out of touch with market demand, etc., which can prove that the survival of a company in the market is extremely complicated. People who usually exercise more and maintain more health may have healthier opportunities, or companies that are more prepared and demanding in all aspects may be able to develop in the long term. In the end, only one conclusion can be reached, that is, we do our best and God makes his decision.
