Everwide Newsletter-No.10

On November 5, 2007, the long-prepared Everwide e-Newsletter was born! Taking the form of a biweekly report, Everwide e-Newsletter has published 10 issues so far. The original idea of designing the e-newsletter was to allow everyone in Everwide Chemical to use the e-newsletter as a platform for internal communication and learn more different knowledge and theories. We also hope that customers can join us to learn about the company's products and experimental features. We look forward to the e-newsletter becoming a medium to let more people know about Everwide Chemical. Each issue of the e-newsletter is included on the company's website (as shown above) for your convenience. If you have any questions, please feel free to come and advise; we will serve you wholeheartedly.

The website of Everwide Chemical e-Newsletter Service is: http://everwide.com.tw/zh-tw/download02.php?cid=2

Environment & Small machine, big function

(Fig. 1) How to deal with fallen trees in the garden?

(Fig. 2) The newly added machine of Everwide Chemical: wood chipper. The main purpose of the wood chipper is to treat the residual branches of trees especially. After crushing them into fine pieces, the debris can be used as fertilizer. In crushing the branches, it can effectively eliminate parasites and insect eggs and significantly reduce the diseases and insect pests derived from the stacking of branches. Fully achieve the effect of environmental protection.

(Fig. 3) We put the fallen branches in the garden into a wood chipper and chop them up. The ground scraps are placed in the garden as fertilizer.

(Fig. 4) In this way, the problem of dealing with fallen branches in the garden can be solved, and organic fertilizers can be added to fully solve the environmental protection problem and maintain the cleanliness of the environment.

Knowledge & Shrinkage?

How much shrinkage does the hardening reaction cause?

Generally speaking, the volume shrinkage rate of epoxy resin without inorganic filler is about 3%, and the linear shrinkage rate is about 1%; the volume shrinkage rate of light hardening resin (acrylic system) without inorganic filler is about 8~10%, the linear shrinkage rate is about 3%. The volume shrinkage rate of resins containing inorganic fillers is related to the volume ratio of inorganic fillers: the higher the volume ratio, the lower the shrinkage rate.

Product & JA169

JA169 is an epoxy resin developed for the high bonding strength required for steel plates, travertine nets, and aluminum frames. The resin has good operability, excellent surface gloss after hardening, and good resistance to chemicals. Suppose it needs to be applied to a large perfusion area. It is recommended to pre-cure JA169 at a low temperature and then increases the temperature to fully cure to avoid excessive reaction and damage to the material. This product has good bonding strength and antistatic properties and can be used to bond different materials. JA169 can be applied to the bonding of metal and general plastic materials.

Living & One solution to this problem: the area method

When we set the areas of the three shapes to be X, Y, and Z, the square area is X+4Y+4Z=1 (assuming the square side length is 1).

On the other hand, the area of a 1/4 circle is X+3Y+2Z=π/4.

Because there are three unknowns, X, Y, and Z, a third equation is needed to get a definite solution. As shown in Fig. 6, the triangle ABC is equilateral because the sides are all the radius 1 of the circle. Therefore, the area enclosed by the arc of ABC is 1/6 of the circle, which is π/6. (Fig. 7) On the other hand, the area of triangle BCD is (root 3)/8.

Then the third equation can be derived: π/6- (root 3)/8=X/2+Y+Z/2. In this way, X, Y, and Z can be solved.
