Experiment § Two-component high Tg epoxy resin adhesive

When most people think of high Tg epoxy resin, they will think of single-component epoxy resin. The single-component epoxy resin needs to undergo a heating and baking process to reach the high Tg. During the processing of some electronic parts, high-temperature baking will cause damage or short circuit of their functions; some customers have equipment without an oven, so they are not suitable for using single-component epoxy resin. In response to the needs of this type of customer, we have developed a two-component room temperature hardening high Tg epoxy resin, JC337 series. This series of products has the characteristics of high Tg curing at room temperature, high hardness, and high strength. As shown in the left picture, the JC337 hardened at room temperature is heated with a hot air gun, and the damage test is done with a sharp probe at a high temperature of 150℃, 200℃, 250℃, etc. (right picture). JC337 can exert its due strength in the above experiment and will not be easily damaged. At present, this product has been promoted in applications such as circuit boards and confidential adhesives.

Knowledge § Regulation of Dibutyl Tin (DBT)

The European Union began to list DBT (Dibutyltin) compounds. Since 2012, it has regulated the use of products, especially textiles that come into contact with the skin, or other items, such as gloves, diapers, shoes, walls, floor coverings. The DBT content cannot exceed 0.1% (1000ppm), and the scope will be expanded to adhesives, paints, and pipe products by 2015, and the concentration of the tube is also below 0.1%. DBT can be applied to the reaction catalyst of PU and Silicon. There is a synthetic oligomer, Urethane Acrylate, which also uses DBT as a catalyst in our UV products, but this catalyst accounts for only 0.03% (300 ppm) of synthetic oligomers. After being diluted into UV products, the content is about 100-200 ppm, only 1/10-1/5 of the tube standard. In other words, the light-hardening resin currently produced by Everwide already meets the 2015 EU regulatory standards. If customers need to achieve ND (nondetectable), we can substitute catalysts to synthesize raw materials, which meets customer needs. This part requires both parties to re-verify the rubber material. We will gradually update the synthetic materials and use non-tin catalysts to meet the stricter standards of the EU in 2015.

Knowledge § Why is rubber material so sticky?

The first reason why rubber materials are not sticky is that there are so many types of rubber that most customers don’t know, including many non-rubber elastomers, which are also mistaken for rubber.

The second reason the rubber material is not very sticky is that the rubber's softness, flexibility, and compressibility are pretty good. It is difficult for the adhesive to withstand such a large amount of deformation in multiple directions. The third reason why rubber materials are not very sticky is that the molecular structure of rubber has almost no polarity and the surface tension is low. It is difficult for the adhesive to develop a strong force with the rubber. Sometimes, processing oil and other additives are used in the production of rubber. The presence of these additives on the rubber surface is also why the rubber material is not sticky.

Living § I don’t do as much

For more than ten years, I have been working at Everwide Chemical, and occasionally I have heard "little talk" from colleagues complaining to each other. The content is a lot about whose job is more straightforward and heavier; why he can do that, but I can't; why the salary and working hours requirements of different departments are different. I believe this exists no matter where or what organization. If this kind of complaint is not resolved, it will affect the morale of the work. It's hard to solve this problem. Once I got off work, some colleagues were still working. I said to Xin-hong, Lin, "Brother, you worked so hard." The honest-looking Xin-hong slowly raised his head and said to me, " I don't do as much." This answer made me stunned for several seconds: A colleague who worked the top few hours of overtime and "did not do as much as others" and seemed to provide answers to many disputes. I immediately wrote it down in the book: the correct concept, enjoy it for a lifetime. We will never compare less but compare more.

News § 2011 Taipei International Electronics Industry Technology Exhibition The 13th is over, hurry up and see!

Yesterday, the 2011 Taipei International Electronics Industry Technology Exhibition was strat at the World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall. The photo on the left is the live show of colleagues preparing for the exhibition on October 9. After three months of preparation, I set off from Douliu early in the morning, and I was busy until almost five o'clock in the afternoon. Everyone was excited and looking forward to it.

October 10 was the first day of the exhibition. There was an endless stream of visitors, and everyone praised our performance! Now I'm waiting for you to make the fun, and there are three days left. Let's meet in the Nangang Pavilion of the World Trade Center. Everwide Chemical booth number: K1116; exhibition time: 2011.10.10-12, 9:00-17:00; 2011.10.13, 9:00-15:00.
