Experiment § UV/moisture curing adhesive

Everwide developed a low-viscosity UV/moisture curing adhesive at the beginning of the year. This kind of adhesive, spraying and soaking has waterproof and dustproof protective glue for the circuit board. Due to the low viscosity, this coating adhesive is not suitable for the bonding of general electronic parts. After research and development, we successfully developed the FD series UV/moisture curing adhesive. The new product FD003-1 has a viscosity of about 10,000 cps and a thixotropic index of 1.7, which is suitable for dispensing in the gap between two tiny parts. Even if part of the glue penetrates to the bottom of the workpiece, it can be cured by moisture to avoid the dispersion of chemicals and damage to electronic parts (Figure 1,2). This product has the following characteristics: 1. It can be cured quickly after ultraviolet radiation, and it will produce excellent adhesive strength after being placed at room temperature for several days (Figure 3). 2. It has a fluorescent effect, which is convenient for instant inspection (Figure 4). 3. It can be applied to UV curing and the mechanical design with shadow troubles (Figure 5). Activity § Recruiting interns

Since the university's cooperation in 2013, more than 150 students have entered Everwide for an internship. We value student's learn and the inspirations they can get. This is our ideal for recruiting interns. In addition to providing a learning platform and allowing them to experience work, they can do simple jobs so that colleagues can do other jobs. For us, the interview is also a kind of learning. We will make adjustments after each interview. The students and we learn a lot in the interview.

Knowledge § What is an interpenetrating polymer network?

Thermoplastics are dissolved in the monomers of thermosetting plastics. After curing with a curing agent, there will be two results. The first is that in most of the curing processes of thermosetting plastics, the originally dissolved thermoplastics separate into phases to form particles in the second phase. The second result is that a small number of examples are that thermoplastics have no phase separation and are entirely compatible with the structure of thermosets. In other words, the long-chain molecules of thermoplastics are interspersed in the network structure of thermosetting plastics. This situation is called Semi-IPN (Semi-interpenetrating polymer network). The semi-interpenetrating polymer network is morphologically homogeneous, and individual Tg disappears to form a new Tg. In the case of thermoplastic toughened thermosetting plastics, this structure will have better toughness. If thermosetting adhesives and thermoplastic substrates can form this structure in bonding applications, they will have better strength.

Living § Take a trip to the mountains together

I make an appointment with my colleagues to take a relaxing journey. The destination is Lugu Township, Nantou County. It is only about an hour's drive from my home, and this is my second visit here. The Rainbow Bridge Trail is the first stop. It is 330 meters long and takes about 10 minutes. Before reaching the Rainbow Bridge Trail, we must walk a long ladder, which will be a bit difficult for people (Figure 1). The giant tree is one of the attractions not to be missed. The giant tree is about 1810 years old. It has witnessed the history of Taiwan and has withstood countless storms. It fell due to heavy rain caused the soil and rock at the roots were loosened in September 2016. But the giant tree still educates people with its body, which is impressive (Figure 2, 3). Another popular attraction in the creek is the "Sky Corridor." The trail is about 220 meters long, and the highest point is about seven stories above the ground. People with a fear of heights should not try it. Then we went to the "University Pool." This name made me full of doubts. This used to be a school? The University Pool was a place used for wood storage during the Japanese Occupation era. With the end of the logging industry, it was taken over by the National Taiwan University Experimental Forest Management Office. The National Taiwan University Experimental Forest Management Office renovated it, using bamboo to build a unique landscape bridge in the pool (Figure 4). The insects and the singing birds, and the cool breeze made me feel peaceful. This journey not only enriches new knowledge but also heals the soul (Figure 5).
