There are many coating technologies, mainly are dry coating and wet coating. In the process of processing, if it doesn't have liquid is called dry coating which has narrow range of application; if the process has liquid is called wet coating, which is widely used. Common wet coating methods include dip coating, roller coating and blade coating. Use coater to control the speed and area size (Figure 1); The thickness of coating film is achieved through different coating rods (Figure 2). The coating rod is made by stainless steel rod being wound with stainless steel wire, and the thickness is controlled by the groove on the stainless steel wire. The smaller the coil diameter, the thinner the thickness. Coated products pursue a smooth surface and uniform thickness, and the coating film produced by coater has considerable reproducibility (Figures 3,4).When the surface tension of the coating is higher than that of the substrate, defects such as cavity and edge shrinkage will occur after the coating is completed (Figure 5, 6). Furthermore, The causes of defects are related to the surface tension and viscosity of painting, process methods, surface tension and cleaning of the substrate, etc. Take the vibration film formula used in small headphones as an example: In the development process, it is necessary to add different additives such as leveling agents and wetting agents according to the resin formulation and coating method to reduce surface tension of coating, so that a smooth vibration film can be obtained and good sound quality can be achieved. We should experiment many times during process in order to get suitable formulation, which is not easy.

In addition to the difference of the formulation of MS resin, which affects the reaction time, the humidity in the environment will also make the reaction speed different. The higher the humidity, the faster the reaction speed of MS resin. Wha’t more, MS resin will cure from the surface layer which is exposed to more moisture first. Because cured film on the surface will greatly reduce the rate of penetration of water vapor to the bottom layer, the curing rate of the bottom layer will become slower. Sometimes it takes more than one week to cure completely. Furthermore, there is another key point — the effect of water vapor penetration will be more conspicuous when the thickness is thicker.
