Glass fiber cloth is a woven fabric made by interweaving many glass fiber filaments. It is impregnated with resin and becomes a prepreg. After hardening, it forms a composite material. Glass fiber has low cost and good strength, and is widely used in sports equipment and electronics industry. Especially printed circuit boards, many are made of glass fiber cloth impregnated with epoxy resin by hot pressing. Glass fiber cloth often needs to be cut during processing, and the edges after cutting are not smooth, and it is easy to take off the thread (Figure1, 2). Cutting defects will affect the quality of the cloth on the one hand, and the fibers that run out will affect the environment on the other hand. The laboratory often sticks tape at the location to be cut, so that the cut edge is fixed with tape to prevent the fiberglass filament from running out. The industrial method is to apply UV glue on the glass fiber cloth. The UV glue firmly fixes the glass fiber filaments to each other, and the silk thread will not move during cutting, which is better for cutting; after cutting, the cut surface is more complete, and there will be no skew or shedding (Figure2, 3). The UV glue for this application needs a very low viscosity, penetrates the glass fiber quickly, and also needs to be able to cure quickly and have appropriate toughness before it can be used in a continuous process. Sometimes the UV glue used for cutting and protection can be seen on the edge of the commercially available glass fiber cloth. Although it is unremarkable, it also has an indispensable function (Figure4).

We have cooperated with Yunlin University of Science and Technology(NYUST) to recruit interns on the campus, enter the factory to experience work and learn professional knowledge. We have been doing it for many years. It was the first time that we participated in the recruitment exposition launched by the university a while ago. The recruitment fair promoted by NYUST is not only open to students in the school, but also allows the community to join in the grand event, hoping to let more people find a job that suits them. Most epoxy resins can undergo photo-curing reaction of cationic polymerization after adding cationic polymerization photoinitiator; some epoxy resins themselves contain nitrogen elements and have alkaline components, which can inhibit the activity of cations, there is no way Carry out photo-hardening reaction. Simple epoxy resin cannot react by free radical polymerization. The epoxy resin reacts with acrylic acid, and the acrylic functional group is introduced into the structure of the epoxy resin to perform the photo-hardening reaction of radical polymerization. This kind of oligomer is called epoxy acrylate (Epoxy acrylate, or Acrylated epoxy). Simply put, the structure of this resin is epoxy resin, but the position of the reaction is the use of acrylic functional groups in the reaction. Sometimes the addition of epoxy acrylate is also referred to as UV epoxy. Perhaps it is the structure rather than the structure, which is easy to cause misunderstanding.
