Experiment § Application of bike filling soil

Many materials have holes on the surface when they are molded, and they need to be filled with soil before subsequent painting can be done. Carbon fiber bicycles are an example, which uses a wide variety of soil fills to overcome different conditions. Some small holes must be repaired immediately at the production site, and there is no way to wait too long or to bake. Poly was used to fill soil in the past because it has the advantages of rapid response, low viscosity, easy application, and low price. The disadvantages are poor strength, poor temperature resistance, and smelly taste. The use of epoxy resin to develop two-component soil filling can overcome many of the shortcomings of Poly. It has good bonding strength and does not contain volatile substances, so it has no taste. However, it has a fatal shortcoming that the waiting time is too long. Even if the resin is cured in 5 minutes, the hardness is still not high after 10 minutes. The debris often jams the sandpaper during grinding, causing serious wear of the sandpaper. Everwide Chemical breaks through the technical bottleneck and can be ground in about 10 minutes. The photos show that the soil-filled debris falls like snowflakes during grinding, showing good processing characteristics.

Activity § What happened in December

At the end of 2016, there are some "old" things to be dealt with. For example, business waste must be sent to incineration by cleaners, and dust on the exterior walls of the factory must be cleaned by cleaners. For the "new" part, we purchased a 20-200x physical microscope, which can observe the fine surface of the material. The file server changes the mirror backup of the original 2 hard disk array RAID 1 to 4 hard disk array RAID 10 and it can improve read and write performance and safer data storage. Some things remain "unchanged." For example, 32 R&D education and training sessions will be held this year, 12 R&D conferences, and 60 R&D project reports. Get rid of the "old", decorate the "new", and insist on the "unchanged", we will usher in 2017 together.

Knowledge § What is Pseudoplastic fluid? What are the characteristics of shear-thinning?

Definition of Pseudoplastic fluid: 1. When the shear rate increases, the viscosity value decreases, and when the shear rate decreases, the viscosity value increases. This phenomenon is called Shear-thinning. 2. When measuring the viscosity, gradually adjust the rotation speed of the viscometer from low rotation speed to high rotation speed, and then sequentially decrease from high rotation speed to low rotation speed. If the relationship curves between speed increase and viscosity and the relationship curve between speed decrease and viscosity overlap, it means that the viscosity of the fluid will not change with time. The fluid that meets these two requirements is a pseudoplastic fluid. Take painting as an example. Paints often contain inorganic powders of different shapes, and high molecular weight polymers are dispersed in the solvent. When the shear rate of the flow field is very low, the inorganic powders tend to be arranged randomly and have no directionality, and the polymer chains will also crimp into a bulky sphere. These structures have a relatively large resistance to flow, so they exhibit relatively high viscosity. When the shear rate of the flow field is very high, the long axis of the inorganic powder will be parallel to the direction of the flow field, minimizing the surface area perpendicular to the flow field, and the polymer chain will also be flattened and elongated in the direction of flow from the fluffy sphere in the solution due to the force. These phenomena will lower the resistance during flow, so it shows the behavior of decreasing viscosity.

Living § Seventeen monkeys

Scientists find an island isolated from the outside world to study the behavior of monkeys. They wrap the sweet potatoes in the soil before throwing them on the island. The monkey didn't know what it was, so naturally, he didn't pick it up and eat it. Then the scientist jumped to the island, washed the soil from the outer layer of the sweet potato, and ate the sweet potato in front of the monkey. At first, only one or two monkeys followed and learned how to eat sweet potatoes. Gradually, more monkeys followed. The result of the study is that as long as 17 out of 100 monkeys learn to wash sweet potatoes, it is enough for the entire group to learn. This research has given people great enlightenment. As long as 17% of people support it, the entire group can continue to follow suit. Our company is the same. 17% of R&D has a sense of mission for education and training, which can promote the research and development atmosphere. 17% of colleagues keep the factory clean and tidy, and everyone will follow suit. 17% have a high sense of responsibility for work, and we will enjoy an ideal working life. There are many things around our lives that are not ideal and need to be improved. The problem is that we have not accumulated by 17%. Just like when the first monkey was washing the sweet potatoes, the other monkeys watched the play foolishly and couldn’t make up seventeen monkeys, and good things could not spread; or the monkeys shrewdly calculated who should be ranked 17, so they would arguing, and the entire ethnic group will starve. There is only one situation when other monkeys feel sorry for the hard work of the monkeys who went to wash the sweet potatoes first and rush to help, and the fate of the entire group will be reversed. We are rushing to become the top 17 monkeys, not because there are more sweet potatoes to eat, not because there are incentive bonuses to get, but because everyone can live better. With this feeling, good things can happen everywhere. We grabbed this to become the top 17 monkeys because we are willing to take responsibility. We are this kind of monkey.
