Many customers will request a variety of different colors of glue, sometimes for identification, and sometimes to match the color of the product. Most people are afraid of toning because the color is very subjective. When you think something is blue, maybe others think it is blue-green. At this time, the method of communication is the key. We usually ask customers to provide us with the color of the current product for reference or compare the card number of the Pantone color card. Adjusting colors is not an easy task. Sometimes the color that the customer needs can be quickly blended, but sometimes it may take several working days because many colors are blended through many different color pastes instead of just mixing them with ready-made color pastes. In addition, because the color of each batch of resin materials, the color before and after two-component mixing, and before and after curing of the resin will be different, sometimes there can only be 90% similarity. But the process of color correction can exercise one's patience, care, and concept of color. I personally still enjoy this kind of challenge, maybe you can also experience it next time.

Everwide Chemical will purchase new instruments every year to continuously improve its analytical capabilities. This year, we purchased a dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA), equipped with a low-temperature system, which can perform an actual thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) of -150~600℃, with Modulated, Hi-Res and automatic sampling functions. The original Differential Scan Card Meter (DSC) has also been upgraded with automatic sampling. Automatic sampling can continue the experiment without stopping after we get off work and the results will be presented automatically early tomorrow morning. These instruments are expected to be installed in mid-October, allowing our R&D and quality assurance colleagues to work faster and more efficiently, and provide you with better services.

Stress relaxation is a phenomenon unique to polymer viscoelasticity. It refers to the relationship between the force and time required for the material to suddenly cause it to undergo a specific deformation with external force and maintain this deformation. For example, if you use a rubber band to wrap and fix something, the tension of the rubber band is very high at first, but gradually the rubber band will become looser. At the beginning, a lot of force is required to deform, because the polymer chain changes the bond angle and bond length to provide this deformation (elasticity). As time increases, the polymer slowly slides along the external force (viscosity), and the strength to maintain a certain elongation will gradually decrease. Except for the example of rubber bands, binding things with plastic ropes and straps will gradually loosen, which is a phenomenon of stress relaxation.

Last week, I participated in the "2015 Shanghai International Automotive Weathering and Corrosion Testing Technology Seminar" held by Q-Lab China Representative Office. The two-day agenda is very substantial, including analytical instruments, experimental methods, testing standards and application practices, which are closely linked, which shows the intention of the organizers. The participants were also very serious and professional. The content of the questions and the level of enthusiasm opened my eyes (pictures 1,2). In particular, there are a few young speakers whose performance is very mature (Figure 3). They are said to be only 25 years old). I keep thinking that our young people in Taiwan are not competitive? Or did we forget to encourage them, as young people should be? When I went to the Shanghai Bookstore to buy books, the clerk asked me whether I had finished buying so many books, I laughed at her without saying a word (Figure 4). For dinner, you don’t need big fish and meat, just a small ramen is fine (Picture 5). When I was waiting at the airport, I read the "Stray Birds" written by Tolstoy (picture 6), and it was early in the morning when I returned to Taiwan (picture 7). In order to hold in-house training courses in the company, I began to organize information. I found that the knowledge of books is the foundation, but new data will appear every year. These data can be searched on the website or accessed at the seminar. There are many sources of knowledge, and the acquisition of knowledge is not as difficult as imagined. The only constant is the accumulation of knowledge. There is no fluke in the accumulation of knowledge. It takes a lot of hard work to obtain it. This seminar gave me a deep impression， we kept in mind that only "work hard" can move on.
