Experiment & Details of measuring viscosity

Everwide's products will undergo quality inspection, the most basic of measuring the viscosity and comparing the infrared spectrum. Measuring viscosity sounds simple, but there are many details. The device of our viscometer is shown on the right: 1. Use a small sample adapter to hold the sample; only 10g is enough. 2. Use the circulating water in a constant temperature water tank to control the temperature of the sample. The temperature has a significant effect on viscosity, so it needs to be accurately controlled. We will adjust the temperature of the water tank thermostat to ensure that the temperature in the sample tank is 25°C. 3. Use the standard solution of viscosity to calibrate the viscometer, then we can calculate the calibration factor of each viscometer. Each measured data must be multiplied by the correction factor to be the actual viscosity.

Activity § Performance project-trolley renovation

Most of the company's raw materials are 50-gallon drums, weighing about 200 kilograms placed on trolleys for easy movement. The trolley has four wheels, two wheels can be steered, and two wheels are fixed wheels. When the self-made trolley does not have the wheels' positioning direction, the raw material barrel would sometimes turn randomly. Sometimes, the rear raw material barrel mouth was different from the trolley's direction, which caused great trouble. In the past two years, the company has implemented an efficiency improvement project, solving this problem as an improvement activity. After discussion, we set the fixed wheel as the front wheel and the movable wheel as the rear wheel and painted yellow paint on the side of the fixed wheel for easy identification (Figure 1). Fix the wheel end with the mouth of the raw material barrel facing the front, and turn the yellow mark of the trolley toward the front (red arrow in Figure 2) during production. The dumper clamps the raw material barrel from the rear, and we can easily access the raw materials. Set these details while referring to the working angle of the dumping machine so it can reach the maximum steering. After the implementation, the efficiency has been dramatically improved to take raw materials or move the barrels. When preparing materials, place the raw material barrels and align the yellow signs with the markings on the ground, which facilitates the manufacturing personnel and makes the site neat and uniform (Figure 3). A little ingenuity can be significantly improved, right?


Knowledge § What is the purpose of surface treatment?

Adhesive technical information often mentions "substrate, please do surface treatment first." The purpose of surface treatment of the substrate is as follows: 1. Physically roughen the surface and produce a mechanical anchor effect between the adhesive and the substrate. 2. Remove oxides, grease, and contaminants on the surface of the substrate. 3. Create new surface functional groups and provide chemical bonds for the reaction between the adhesive and the substrate. 4. Chemically change the substrate's surface structure to improve the adhesive's wetting ability to the substrate. 5. Form a uniform and closed film to prevent metal corrosion effectively. Some surface treatments include the functions mentioned above at one time, and some surface treatments require several steps to achieve the goal, depending on the type of substrate and adhesive. Before performing the surface treatment, you must discuss these objectives clearly, so that you will not choose the wrong method, waste time, cost, and fail to get good results


Living § Are you satisfied?

There are always many elements around us. Work, family, friends, relatives in our life and make life full of many changes. Every day, we keep on pursuing the life we ​​want without stopping. But, are we delighted with our lives? "Are you satisfied?" is a sentence that a university professor about 70 years old once asked me. After the statutory retirement age, this teacher is still teaching literary history in the school, sharing the mysteries of literature with students, and talking about his teaching philosophy and academic record. I asked him: Why do you like teaching so much? He said he was looking for his value, looking for a good life. "Are you satisfied?" These words seemed to wake me up when the evening drum and morning bell struck me. It turns out that "satisfaction with one's life" is an important topic. When we encounter setbacks, downcast, complain about ourselves, complain about the situation, and complain about the results, this sentence becomes a compass for finding a way out. Imagine yourself as a captain facing the waves! With full of strength, vigorously broke through the waves one after another to harvest abundant results. Even if the final harvest is not as expected, the labor and experience accumulated in the process should be a source of happiness. Where is life without waves? Where is the life of sailing? Instead of resenting and dissatisfied when you are in adversity, it is better to change your mind, discover your value, and find happiness. I hope that next time someone asks me: "Are you satisfied?" I can confidently tell him: Yes, I am delighted with my life. "Yes, I am satisfied ."
